Overview

Working on this commissioned art piece for Graham & Iria telling their love story was a special experience 💙

With their 35th anniversary coming up, we wanted to capture their journey together through bright colors, personal photos, as well as textured layers inspired by the vibrant Brazilian culture where Graham & Iria spent most of their lives together and grew their family.

From their first date almost 40 years ago at a small Indian restaurant in London to celebrating their honeymoon at Carnival in Rio to returning and settling where they first met back in England... it was challenging to capture their life story together as a couple over the span of several decades but we're happy with how this fun, whimsical piece came together!

Often our individual life journeys feel slightly chaotic and incomplete without someone special by our side and this was certainly the case for the Gertz-Rombach's as they found profound love in each other and are still happily married decades later. Thank you both for trusting us with making your piece!

Appreciate and celebrate your parents and guardians often... you never truly know what sacrifices they went through for you and the crazy journeys they've been on to get to where they are today.

Shoutout to my Brazilian brother Rafael Mora for helping put this piece together—this was the first one we made combining illustration, photography, and physical items in one setting.
